MACS - MET Adult Christian Studies

The MET Adult Christian Studies (MACS) is an adult teaching ministry of The MET. Its mission is to provide enriching courses and valuable classroom experiences that are foundational to Christian development and relevant to personal and social issues confronting the church and society today.

MACS classes are held Sunday mornings at 9:00 am and 11:00 am in the adult education wing of the church, located on the second floor in the northeast corner of the building, beside the Metro Café. MACS classes consist of lectures, the occasional video series and in-class discussions; they strive to make each class experience inviting and welcoming.

MACS runs a wide variety of courses, typically four to eight weeks each, through the normal church year and is structured around three basic types of courses, outlined below.

Core Classes

These classes are designed to teach and develop students to become representatives of Jesus Christ. Students are encouraged to build qualities into their spiritual lives that include developing an intimate relationship with God, being grounded in Scripture, developing a Christ-like character, being faithful in service and other areas that help Christians to better reflect the Lord Jesus.

Elective Classes

These series of classes are based on a single theme focused on topics such as a study of a book in the Bible, applied theology, history of the church, and social issues, to name a few.

Single-Theme Classes

These are ongoing classes that run throughout the year and are divided by age, stage or interest. These include women’s and men’s classes, marriage classes, Healthy Homes class, Missions class, and the like.
