2020 Short Term Trips

Rapid Lake | July 5-10, 2020

Partner with Met Missionaries, Mark and Ruth Anna Dana and Northern Canada Evangelical Mission through a camping ministry on a traditional Algonquin Reserve in the province of Quebec. We will have the opportunity to build relationships with the people of Rapid Lake by hosting a Vacation Bible Camp, working with teens, and sharing meals with families in the community. This is a great opportunity for those interested in a first time exposure to missions, as well as families who wish to serve together. 
Participants stay in tents and arrange travel together in cars.

Poland | July 7-20, 2020

Partner with Met Missionary, Elyse Jackson and Josiah Venture through summer camp ministry for local youth. We will have the opportunity to experience an authentic worship service at a Polish church, engage in Polish history and culture through orientation with other short term teams, partner with a local church to facilitate ministry, and most importantly, foster relationships through camp activities, games, worship, Bible messages, and small-group connecting through relational evangelism and discipleship.

Guatemala | August 1-8, 2020

Partner with local Pastors at bilingual church, Iglesia del Camino where we will have the opportunity to help assist in a wide array of ministry opportunities including a Vacation Bible Camp for local children, ministry events for men, women, and teens, as well as local home visits to share the gospel and encourage believers with Christ’s love.

Samaritan's Purse | As Needed

Samaritan’s Purse mobilizes specialized staff and equipment as well as hundreds of volunteers when natural disasters occur on Canadian soil. They provide emergency aid and help with cleanup in the wake of severe wildfires, floods, hurricanes, tornados, and more. Rapid Response Team chaplains are also deployed to pray with disaster victims and to offer them encouragement and hope. Those interested in this opportunity will participate in all necessary Met Short Term Missions Training, but will only be mobilized as needs are identified by Samaritan’s Purse. Individuals are required to get, to and from, the disaster site using their own means.  On-site costs and accommodations will be covered by Samaritan’s Purse.

Met City Outreach | As Needed

Participate in an introductory outreach experience right in your own community. The City Outreach short term team is designed to provide greater flexibility in terms of time commitment as well as offer a range of options to meet various skill sets and giftings. Each participant of the City Outreach short term team will be required to help facilitate The Big Give, a one-day event where we invite our community to join us for a fun-filled day of food and activities. Additionally, participants will select one additional outreach opportunity throughout the year. These include: Operation Backpack, Warm Hearts and Soles Boot Drive, Seniors Residence Outreach, as well as additional opportunities as they arise.
