ANNOUNCEMENTS: SUNDAY, APRIL 26

  • Baptisms: Today we are celebrating four baptisms! In the first service we have Austin McLaren, and in the second service Rosaline Pigeon, Tristan Kopczyk, and Maja Wong.
  • Monthly Church-Wide Gatherings: On Sunday, April 26 we will be gathering as a church family for Food & Fellowship at 5:00pm (free meal), followed by Church-Wide Prayer at 6:00pm in the Chapel. We encourage you to join to connect and pray with one another for the needs of our church.
  • Christianity Explored: We are offering a special class called "Christianity Explored" on Sundays at 1:00pm (after second service), starting April 12. Over 8 sessions, we'll look through Mark's Gospel to learn more about the life and person at the heart of the Christian faith - Jesus Christ. If you are new to Christianity or just curious about what it's all about, we would love to have you join us. Please register online.
  • Starting Point: If you have been at The Met for six months or less, you're invited to Starting Point on Sunday, May 3 at 1:00pm. It's an opportunity to learn more about the church and to meet some of our team here. You can find more information and register on our website.
  • We're hiring:
    • We are looking for both part-time and full-time Custodians to support The Met's Facilities team (see job description here).
    • We are also hiring a Men's Director/Pastor who will work closely with the Pastoral Executive Team (PET) to oversee and implement Bible-based ministry for men, including providing teaching and preaching, pastoral care, and counselling (see job description here).
  • Volunteers needed:
    • Our Sunday morning Tech Team could use some more helping hands to take care of various elements of our worship service production. Positions include video switcher, projection, camera operator, and audio. No experience is necessary and training will be provided. Please fill out a Serve Card and select "Audio-Visual Production".
    • Our Sunday morning Worship Team is looking for more musicians to volunteer with them. Drums and vocals are our biggest areas of need right now, but bass, acoustic and electric guitars, and piano and keys are welcome as well. Please fill out a Serve Card and select "Sunday Worship Services".
    • Summer is just around the corner and The Met hosts three weeks of camps for kids! If you love playing with and teaching children and have a heart for camp ministry, there are opportunities to serve at VBC, Summer Camp, and Metrohoops Basketball Camp. Roles are available for youth helpers, youth leaders, and adult volunteers. Learn more about the different camps on our website and how you can serve.
  • Family News:
    • We are sad to share the passing of Immanuel Jacob Kimori Kireti (born April 10, 2026 and died on April 11, 2026), son of Martin and Olivia Kireti, and younger brother to Gabriel (16 years old) and Owen (7 years old). Please pray for their family as they mourn the loss of Immanuel. The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 at 1:00p.m. here at The Met.
    • On April 19, Marion Michel, in her 94th year, was called to her heavenly home by her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Marion loved, attended and supported the ministry of The Met for over 75 years. Please pray for God's comfort to be upon family and friends who knew and loved her.
  • Monthly Missions Prayer Focus: Once a month we will show a video highlighting a nation that will be our prayer focus for the coming month. You can visit the missions kiosk to pick up a copy of the 2026 Missions Prayer Guide about unreached people groups with some prayer points. For the month of May, please be praying for India.
India is home to over 1.4 billion people and thousands of distinct groups, yet more than 95% remain unreached, having little or no access to the gospel. While Christianity is growing, believers in many regions face opposition, discrimination, and pressure for their faith.
    Pray for...
    • Christians to boldly live out God’s love across caste, religious, and regional barriers.
    • Open doors for gospel resources to reach India’s one billion unreached people.
    • Protection, courage, and perseverance for believers facing rising persecution.
