Assistant Youth Pastor

The Assistant Youth Pastor, collaborates with the Youth Pastor, to provide overall direction and implementation of a biblically-based, gospel-centered, family supportive, youth ministry to Junior High students.  He also provides leadership and oversight of the development of a culture of discipleship in the Met Youth – in particular, the encouragement of one-to-one discipleship.

Pastor of Evangelism and Outreach

The Pastor of Evangelism and Outreach provides overall direction and implementation of a Bible-driven, gospel-centered evangelism ministry through The MET to the marketplace. He provides leadership and oversight of the development of personal and corporate evangelism in a culturally relevant and engaging manner. He provides oversight and direction to the local outreach ministry initiatives. The Pastor demonstrates flexibility to lead other ministry areas as well.

Missions Pastor 

The Missions Pastor works closely with the Pastoral Executive Team (PET) to oversee and implement a Bible- based ministry for missions. He provides teaching, training, pastoral care and counselling related to the missions portfolio.

At The Met we recognize that there’s tremendous strength in a flexible pastoral team. The duties set out may be adapted as ministry needs change. We seek pastors who are adaptable and flexible. The core responsibilities of pastoral ministry at The Met include: teaching the Bible in a variety of contexts; providing timely pastoral care and counselling to those in need; officiating at weddings and funerals; and, supporting the Lead Pastor in other pastoral needs as required.

Executive Assistant

Full-time (37.5 hrs), Monday to Friday, onsite

We are looking for a highly organized, self-motivated Executive Assistant to provide administrative support to the Lead Pastor and Executive Director of Operations, and perform a variety of organizational tasks. The responsibilities include managing calendars, coordinating travel arrangements, purchasing, completing expense reports, drafting & prioritizing correspondence, formatting and proof-reading documents and presentations, and organizing events. To be successful in this role, you possess exceptional time management skills, advanced English grammar and MS Office skills, are able to build effective relationships and act with minimal guidance.

The successful candidate will be required to agree to and sign The Met’s Statement of Faith, as well as provide a vulnerable sector background check. Occasional weekend and evening availability is required.

Administrative Assistant

Full-Time (37.5 hrs), Monday to Friday, onsite

The Met has an opening for an Administrative Assistant who is a mature Christian who can provide support to our ministry staff and volunteers. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, usually 8:30am to 4:30pm, with occasional weekend and evening availability required.

Tasks include setting up ministry events in The Met’s PCO database including registration and attendance check-in, and providing support during events; preparing, editing and/or proofreading correspondence, presentations, and reports using MS Office and Adobe Suite; responding independently to basic congregational enquiries via phone, email and text and database updates. 

Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills, mastery of English grammar, proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Suite, and a high degree of tact and discretion are required.

Accountant/Bookkeeper

Full-time (37.5 hrs), Monday to Friday, onsite

The Accountant/Bookkeeper is responsible for administering all aspects of the bookkeeping and accounting functions of The Met.  This includes data entry and processing of all income, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliations, statutory filings and month end financial reports. The incumbent will have a university degree or diploma in related field (Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent) with a minimum five (5) years’ experience in accounting, including fund accounting, preferably within a church or non-profit sector; Quickbooks an asset.

Facility Manager

Full-time (37.5 hrs), onsite

Through effective stewardship of resources, the Facility Manager is responsible for the maintenance, efficiency, use and safety of the property, building, and equipment of The Met. A Secondary School diploma is required, as is knowledge of building maintenance systems preferably with a trade certification or post-secondary education. We are looking for 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent related functions, knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and other environmental regulations, knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, IT set-up and maintenance for a large office network; and safety precautions related to facilities management. The facility Manager is capable of performing small repairs, well organized, and detail and customer (internal and external) oriented. For more information, please view the following PDF.
