ANNOUNCEMENTS (MARCH 29)

  • Church-wide Food & Fellowship and Church-wide Prayer: Sunday, March 29 (free meal at 5:00pm and prayer at 6:00pm).
  • Easter: We hope you will plan to join us to celebrate Easter at The Met. We will have two services on Good Friday (April 3) at 9:00am and 11:00am, including communion. On Easter Sunday (April 5) we will have three services at 8:30am, 10:30am, and 12:30pm. Invite your friends, bring your families, as we celebrate that Jesus is risen.
  • Special Offerings: Last week we launched our Annual Easter offering, as well as an overseas relief project. These are over and above our regular offering.
    • Easter Offering: The special Easter Offering will support the ministry of the church through the General Fund. We hope to raise $30,000, so we invite you to consider making a special gift at this time to support all that God is doing in and through The Met. Special Offering envelopes are available, and related special "Easter Offering" giving option is available through our online giving platforms as well.
    • Global Disaster Relief Offering: We are also inviting donations for Global Disaster Relief under our missions and compassion fund.  There is an urgent humanitarian crisis in Lebanon. The situation is severe, with hundreds of thousands displaced and in need of basic food support arising from the broader Middle East conflict. As a church, we are seeking to support 100 families (500 individuals) with one month's emergency food relief in Lebanon who are fleeing from war. Our church is blessed and this is an opportunity to show care and compassion. Our goal is to raise $17,500, which will provide emergency support boxes to 500 displaced individuals (100 families of 5). Each $35 box contains enough food and supplies to help one individual for one month. When making a donation, please select the option "Global Disaster Relief" on our online giving platforms. Similarly, if giving via envelope, please mention "Global Disaster Relief" on it.
  • 1-Day Missions Crash Course: On Saturday, April 11, Pastor Joy will be leading a 1-day course on missions. It will provide an introduction to God’s heart for the nations and our role in His global mission. Please register here.
  • Intro Monthly Missions Prayer Focus: Once a month we will show a video highlighting a nation that will be our prayer focus for the coming month. You can visit the missions kiosk to pick up a booklet about unreached people groups with some prayer points.
  • Family News: We wish to let our church family know of the passing of Steve Hodge’s father, Bernard, just over a week ago.

Missionary of the Week

Khalil and Sarah serve the Arab world through Pioneers. Together, they lead a strategic and compassionate online ministry reaching seekers across the region. Sarah carries a deep burden for Arab women and oversees the Facebook page Healing Hearts, where she publishes daily biblical reflections, encouragement, and practical teaching that address struggles in family life, marriage, and personal faith. She also personally engages with women who respond—answering questions, praying with them, and building trust in sensitive contexts where open conversations about faith can be difficult. Through gentle, respectful dialogue, she points hurting hearts to the saving grace of Christ.

Khalil provides pastoral leadership and oversight. He leads a correspondence team of nine, including four from Muslim backgrounds, who respond daily to seekers throughout the Arab world. He ensures each person receives clear, Christ-centered biblical guidance. Khalil also oversees follow-up for new believers, connecting them with local churches when possible and supporting the planting of new fellowships where none exist. In 2026, they prayerfully trust God to raise up 1,000 new believers, focusing especially on Morocco, Algeria, Iraq, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia.

Prayer Requests

  • For peace in the region: Pray for God’s mercy amid ongoing conflict and instability in the Middle East and Arabian Gulf. Ask the Lord to protect innocent lives, calm fear and unrest, and reveal Himself as the Prince of Peace in communities marked by tension and uncertainty.
  • For new believers living under pressure: Pray that those who have recently come to faith would be strengthened in courage and guarded from fear. Ask that they would experience God as their refuge, remain steadfast despite opposition, and find safe, trusted fellowship with other believers.
  • For the Church and its leaders: Pray for pastors and emerging leaders to have wisdom, discernment, and compassion as they shepherd believers in fragile contexts. Ask God to deepen unity, maturity, and bold yet gracious witness within local fellowships.
