AURIGA BUILDING CAMPAIGN

As a church family, we are in an important season of prayer and discernment for wise stewardship. Earlier this year, our congregation voted to move forward with the purchase of 31 Auriga Drive, the property adjacent to The Met. This page provides a summary of why this decision was made, what it means for us today, and how we can walk forward together in unity.

What We Know About the Auriga Property

The congregation approved the purchase as a long-term ministry investment. The building offers:

  • Strategic location adjoining our current facility
  • Additional parking and access solutions
  • Rental opportunities to help offset costs and build reserves
  • Future ministry flexibility offering a wide range of options

Our Current Season

The church is witnessing leadership transition, and growth patterns have shifted from what we anticipated earlier. Because of this, the Board revisited the Auriga decision with input from experienced advisors from within the church family. After exploring all alternatives, moving forward with the purchase while securing tenants and managing the building responsibly emerged as the wisest stewardship option.

Auriga Building Campaign

The Auriga Building Campaign gives the congregation a way to participate prayerfully and financially. Early financial support helps:

  • Reduce interest costs
  • Strengthen our long-term planning
  • Position us to steward the building responsibly while maintaining ministry stability

More detailed financial models will be made available in focused sessions for those who want deeper visibility into numbers and projections.

Security and Giving Confidence

We understand that recent events related to cyber fraud may create concern. In response, we are conducting a full cybersecurity audit with a specialist from within our church. We have strengthened internal controls that gives us the confidence to move forward. We are also exploring providing secure giving pathways for larger gifts.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why did we decide to purchase 31 Auriga Drive?

• The congregation approved the purchase to prepare for future ministry needs, explore possible expansion options, and secure adjacent property for long-term strategic flexibility.

Why can't we walk away from the agreement?

• We pursued this option and contacted the sellers, but they were not willing to proceed in that direction. Further advice indicated that completing the purchase is the most responsible financial and legal option available. Ending the agreement would carry significant cost and risk.

How will the building be used?

• In the near term, our focus will be on securing commercial tenants. Over time, the building gives us flexibility for future ministry needs – whether expanded ministry space, strategic partnerships, or even the possibility of selling the property and using the proceeds to fund future ministry options. The options are many, and we trust that God will direct future leadership in how best to use this building for His purposes.

How does the Auriga Building Campaign work?

• The Auriga Building Campaign is a designated avenue for the congregation to help meet the commitments tied to the purchase. Giving toward the Campaign is above regular tithes and offerings.

Does giving to this fund affect other ministries?

Regular giving continues to sustain all ongoing ministries and missions. The Auriga Building Campaign is a separate invitation for those able to give additionally.

Is my giving secure?

Yes. We are implementing stronger cybersecurity measures and offering secure channels for large gifts. More details will be provided directly on the giving page.

How can I stay informed?

• We will be sharing regular updates through Sunday announcements, email communications, and our website. Stay connected by subscribing to emails from The Met. You can also contact the Board by email
